The Jo is a short staff used in Jodo, Aikido and various Koryu styles of bujutsu.Ā It is a simple staff and can come in various lengths.Ā The most common length is approximately 127.6cm which is where the 4.21 Shaku comes from.Ā Shaku is a traditional Japanese unit of measurement.
You can choose between Japanese Red or White Oak.Ā Red Oak is light and easy to handle, whilst White oak is denser and heavier - more suited to vigorous contact training.
